India's Tata Motors confirms that the Nano--the least-expensive car in the world with its base price of about $2,200--is coming to North America.

Looks like it eats Smart Cars for breakfast. But seriously, I think it looks better than a Smart Car as it doesn't have the goofy smile expression.

yea, and it is a lot cheaper, but still a DEATH TRAP on these roads!

Story is gone. I wonder if it was false? It would be impossible for Tata to sell that car here without major money invested into its ability to keep passengers safe.

The Smart car is actually very well designed for frontal impacts but then again, it is owned by Mercedes-Benz:
