I ****ing hate the UAW. They are the number one reason U.S. automakers are in their current position.

Brilliant. They never will learn.

Bob Lutz: "There's no doubt that a design-driven philosophy is the only one that will work. People who are not sensitive to design, people who don't care about vehicles, people who view a vehicle as an appliance, they just default to Toyota. We will never win that one."

Back up guys.. Unions are the reasons we have the great country we do. Without them there wouldnt be a third of the labor laws and safety standards in this country.. Not to mention retirement plans, death benefits, workers comp, 401k, and Social Security Yes I said it.. Social Security.. Unions were first to introduce a pension plan that was later used to come up with social security back in the 20's and 30's.. If GM hasnt been paying there end then that is a problem that they made. It isnt right but thats just like if the government decides not to pay your SS benefits.. How would you feel then? Unions arent perfect.. But last I checked no one was....

But $40hr to put a seat in a car, with full pension and benefits bankrupts a company... I work in a union shop (CWA) for AT&T, and I see both sides of the story. IMHO unions are glorified thieves, they have outlived their usefulness. I work 10x as hard as some of the old cats I work with and make less money, because of seniority.. AT&T estimates the new health bill with cost the company 1 Billon per quarter. Washington + CWA will bankrupt the company.. I'm willing to take a pay cut to keep my job!
