New NHTSA rules may require back-up cameras by 2014

Washington — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has proposed new safety rules that could require automakers to install back-up cameras in new cars by 2014.

this is kinda of dumb....next they'll propose to strap pillows to the front and bottom of all cars by 2016 due to the high number of people that get run over in the u.s.

I ahve seen them before, my Cadillac just does not have one.

I'd love to have them on my truck for sure. They are very helpful.

That said, I'm not a fan of a mandate.
