Dream Cruisin': It's time to show the world what Detroit does best

Shhh. Listen. Did you hear it? That was the sound of a V8 rumbling to life this morning, of a hand crank starting a Model T, a charged-up electric car unplugging for the drive to Woodward Avenue.

Wow, what a fantastic time today. Detroit 17th annual Woodward Dream Cruise. The largest car cruise in the world! About 30 miles round trip from Ferndale to Pontiac and back, up and down Woodward Blvd (Eight lanes, 4 each way). Bumper to Bumper Classics to current models. The Detroit 5th Gen. Camaro Club (I am a member of) participated in the Chevrolet 100 years celebration parade. Over 100 Chevy cars and trucks, and owners of all ages were privy to participate in this police escorted parade to officially kick off the 2011 Dream Cruise. Then were treated to a mid-morning brunch. Where we were able to settle in to a road side seat and enjoy all the beautiful cars of ALL types passing along Woodward. Had a great time and I am all ready looking forward to next years cruise nights.

F.Y.I. All out of state'rs. If your into cars. plan your mini vacation for next years Woodward cruise. Its un-believeable, parties up & down Woodward. and a lot of vintage, custom and sometimes strange vehicles.

Fly Low and avoid the radar
