OnStar shifts gears, won't collect data from nonsubscribers

General Motors' OnStar service on Tuesday said it has dropped plans to keep collecting data from OnStar-equipped vehicles after owners have canceled the service.

They were going to start collecting and selling data of non customers starting in december, but I guess they just backtracked after getting a lot of complaints and tons of people disabling there systems.

I am assuming they will still sell data of current customers starting in december.

looks like I start saving $37.50 a month for my 2 vehicles

Oh I read that wrong, I thought it said it would stop collecting data from non customers. Thanks for clarifying

I'm not sure what your saying.

What I read from it is they are going to NOT collect data after you cancel

If you ARE a customer I am assuming they WILL collect and sell data

But until there is a revised statement it is not clear exactly what they will change.
