General Motors Corp. today said it would give American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. as much as $200 million to help it resolve the UAW's strike at the Detroit-based supplier.

Now GM is in charge of all of the UAW's agreements with independent companies that do business with GM? What total BS.

GM is offering $200 million to settle American Axle strike

General Motors Corp. issued a limited-time offer Thursday of $200 million to American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. and the UAW to settle an 11-week strike at the supplier. The money is intended to help American Axle pay for buydowns, early-retirement offers and buyouts that are expected to be part of an eventual settlement between the UAW and the Detroit supplier.
