These sketches reveal Chevrolet's latest concept, set to be revealed the Paris Motor Show this month
Has Chevrolet caught the performance bug? After we revealed the firm's plans to bring the Camaro muscle car to the UK, here's another sporty model from the same factory.
These official sketches, released this week, reveal the General Motors-owned brand's latest concept, set to be revealed in the metal at the Paris Motor Show later this month. Called the WTCC Ultra, the racy hot hatch points the way to the next-generation Lacetti, which is expected to go on sale in 2008.
While the overall shape is very similar to Vauxhall's Astra VXR, the new model's rising waistline and concealed rear door handles have clearly been influenced by SEAT's existingline-up. The result is an aggressive and modern five-door hatchback which has been designed toshow that Chevy is far morethan simply a budget brand.
Powered by a 190bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine, the new car is also said to showcase the look of all future Chevys. A less potent 150bhp version of the oil-burning powerplant will be available in the current Lacetti family hatch from February next year.
