Hmmmm......interesting read, Lu. Even though diesel costs more than gasoline (currently), 65 mpg more than justifies the purchase of the ECOnetic as well as importing it. There's more to it than Ford is letting on, IMO.

If Diesel wasn't so **** pricey (as in..pricier than gas) then I'd use a diesel vehicle.

I don't care what a vehicle runs on..as long as it goes vroom vroom. :O

I think today's diesel technology surpasses that of any gasoline powered vehicles. One of my buddies who has a Duramax diesel in his 2500HD Silverado just tried home heating oil in his truck with great success. He said something about the cetol (sp?) rating was higher than automotive grade diesel, yet costs considerable less.

Could also do biodiesel. Diesel engines were originally invented to run on peanut oil.
Costs a few $$ to get the equipment to filter the stuff PROPERLY(cooking oil and the like)..but after all said and done..you're paying like 50 cents a gallon for fuel.

Yep, I had the same thoughts (in different words) about the Euro Focus Vert and the Ford Falcon.

BUT..just like those...Ford ain't doin it (except for the focus vert..which may be another 4 years or so).
