Sooo, I guess what it comes down to is he wasn't serious when he pledged to help the Big Three. This really ticks me off big time. The banks an wallstreet got a blank check with now restrictions, yet the the Big Three the ones that really employ hundreds of thousands of workers who spend money have to jump through freaking hoops to get bread crumbs. (Sorry switching rant mode off)

In The Post interview, Obama said the U.S. auto industry had deep troubles before the crisis but got by on cheap gasoline, loose credit and high SUV sales. He said he is concerned that SUV sales appear to be rising again as fuel prices have dropped.

"People's memories are a little short," Obama said. "If that's their thinking, that we'll be able to dig our way out of this problem because gas is going to stay at two bucks a gallon, then that would be a premise that I would fundamentally question."
And its all the car makers fault since they dont build cars that people want.

I'm just grateful he's at the helm and the last admin is heading for the exit. He is obviously a highly intelligent person to have gotten where he is, and there is no doubt in my mind he wants America to prosper. At the very least, we will have someone working with the Automotive sector that can pronounce most of the vehicle model names.

" There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again. GWB, 17 Sept, 2002.
