Just finished installing the New solo performance axle back J-pipe setup on my Convertible. Unfortunantly, we are in the middle of a semi-blizzard so have not road tested very much.
First off; LOVE the sound. Very nice rumble/growl on startup and NICE decel burble. Will hopefully post video of before and after on Sat/Sun.
I first had concerns about the non typical look of the J-pipe system, but after it's all tucked up under the rear fascia, it is not even noticable and looks VERY clean from behind.
Because of where the connection is made, the "butterfly baffles"/Springy things were deleted. Since these were NOT on the coupes we felt they were not needed anyway, BUT these were saved should any problems or sound issues arise. There is an inside look below.
This is a very new system for the convertible, and there were some Tweaks that were needed at the flaired connection, a couple of hanger adjustments and we even added a couple hangers for increased stability. No pipe bending or major adjustments were needed, but this was an install that should probably be installed at a muffler shop until these can be corrected; It cost me an extra $150, but was well worth it.
These concerns were relayed to Steve and Jeff at Solo, and know they would love to get one in for some fine tuning of the install for the convertibles.
Overall, I'm currently quite pleased with the final fit, appearance and sound
