Convertible top problem

Bought a convertible 2SS/RS two days ago and already it's back at the dealer because the top won't power up and down. The dealer says it acts like it's low on fluid but it's not and they are searching for the fix. Another thing is that top down the fabric flops and flaps in the wind. Can't hear it but very visible thru the rear view mirror. I saw another new Camaro vert on the freeway once and the cloth was flapping around as well , I told my wife that it must be a conversion because no way Chevy would put out a product that did that. Anyone else familiar whith these issues?

Never herd any of them, the problems your stating, those are new problems !
The top I've herd ya should not open or close on any verts (when driving),
specially on larger cars the fabric tends to open & stretch vs compact cars.
Hope this helps, I like to hear more tho !
Thanks for posting this.

I have not had any problems with mine but I do see the fabric flapping but that is what the cover is for.

The dealer says the hydrualic fluid reservoir wasn't installed correctly and it emptied and soaked the rear seat. If the top fabric flapping around is normal and not fixable I will be seriously disapointed in the effort Chevy put into the convertible. Why would they go to the trouble of having it fold in a manner that leaves a clean look only to have the fabric flap in the wind.

Well I do not know if you will get one but I got a survey in the mail from JD Power about my new car. Other than emailing GM directly that could be another avenue of approach to voice your concern.

Hey, i hope for the best...have you heard of these problems with anyone else? I am trading in my ls in for an ss, but couldnt make up my mind on whether or not i should go with a soft top. Do you think that this problem is your vehicle specific ? or do you think that this is a problem across the board with all of the new drop tops?

I haven't had any issues with mine. The top flaps a little on the sides when down depending on how windy it is and the speed you are traveling. If I'm going to go over 55 MPH, I put the tonneau cover on.

Test drive one first with the cover off and take a look in the rear view at 50mph or better. This is my 5th vert and I have never seen anything like the flapping on the new Camaro. I'll see if I can post a video. Thanks for the input everyone.
