Cleaning the Camaro -- Need Your Advice

Hi, everyone. I have a '12 Camaro RS convertible in victory red. I don't drive it often - at least not until the summer - and I have it in my garage. I do not cover it because I like to look at it, plus I start it up occasionally to keep the battery fresh.

I noticed today I have a light film of dust/dirt on the car. I am wondering should i just wait until I can wash the car with soap/water and dispense of the dust, or should I use one of the detail sprays on the market and spray and wipe down with cloth or microfiber towel?

I appreciate your advice and suggestions on car care. Have a great weekend and week. Camaromark

Noooooo......don't use the spray...those dust particles are just dying to scratch your finish. Just wait until you're ready to wash your Camaro...that's ALWAYS the best route.

for light dust you can get you a California Duster. We all use them at Car shows.

I love my CA car duster too and I think it's great for shows...meaning you just washed and waxed your car a day or so ago and you now have a little bit of dust on it. But I would not use it on the Shelby after it's been sitting in the garage a couple months.

No, we all don't. I would never drag anything across dusty paint.

I also use a California Car Duster, but like all things, there is a right way and a wrong way to use it... The fibers are impregnated with wax, that holds the dust. If you just drag the fibers lightly and not rub with it, you'll be safe.
