convertible rear replacement glass options?

Occupational hazard, possibly someone I arrested, long story. My 2011 convertible rear glass shattered and the dealer wants to replace the whole convertible cover. I wont be going through insurance to get it done. Over 2 grand to replace the top. Can i just make a glass template with no heating mechanism? What are my options to replace the glass? Is it possible to remove the glass out of a salvage convertible? I found someone parting a convertible on Ebay. With all the trouble i'm reading about these convertible tops, i would rather keep mine intact and replace the glass.

Give a REPUTABLE glass shop a call....NOT SAFELITE!, and see what they can do.

More than likely the glass can be replaced.

Sorry about the car. Haters gotta hate. At least they only came after property. Cowards.
