Anyone holding out for the Z28?

I'm been looking around for Z28 threads but found very little. (basically nothing)

I talked to classic and the Z28 is on the "shelf" just like the convertible. So is anyone waiting it out? I'm smitten over the SS and there is one right now at my local dealer but just something tells me to hold off for the Z28. 550+ and 200-300 pounds lighter stock with a warranty, just sounds like what dreams are made of.

If anyone has any inside info or is in the same dilemma please share.

oh, there's been plenty of threads about the Z28 here. The convert is not on the shelf...it is indeed coming. There has been no definite announcements about the Z28.

550hp AND 200-300#'s lighter? ummmm...keep dreaming. What are they gonna take off the car to make it that much lighter (while adding the weight of a SC)?

I'd love a 5thgen Z28...but I don't want to wait any longer and it'll be outta my price range when it does get here.

PLUS....550hp is very attainable in an SS for a few thousand bucks (Cam, CAI, LT's, Exhaust & Tune).

2010-2SS/RS/LS3/IBM/RP6: ECS-Paxton Supercharger / American Racing Headers & Exhaust / PFADT Suspension / DSS 9" 4.10 Rear / FOR SALE!

200-300 pounds lighter is what I've seen on some of the Autoblogs about the Z28. What catches me about the Z28 is the ZR1 accents it has in its body lines. not to mention the motor... the ZR1 is way out of my price range but if the Z28 is priced in the 40s- very low 50s I could swing the payments.

Whatever pictures and news you are reading are all just photoshops and rumors at this point (especially with GM's current situation and the current govt hard-on for going green).

I'm usually an optimist when it comes to this stuff...but asking for 550hp, a 200-300# diet and a price less than a 'vette...I'll believe it when it see it.

I'm waiting for the convertible...I couldn't afford a Z28.

A nice Forced Induction system, and some supporting bolts-ons and I'll be grinning ear to ear.

I would think they could build it to compete with the GT-500, which is mid-$40's. But even the GT-500 is close to 4000lbs. BUT...you have to consider that it's not going to be a large volume car, so right now, that's not going to be high on GM's to-do list. Maybe a few years down the road...hopefully.
