Is this a Z28 caught in testing!?

From a C5 news release (because they just gotta have everything first )

"The wheels and tires on this Z/28 are likely non-production, however, we felt like we’d seen this particular setup before. A quick look into the archives and we realized the 2009 Cadillac CTSv sedan prototypes used almost exactly the same wheels and tires as we see on this Z/28 test car. That isn’t surprising when you consider the Z/28 will share a heart with the CTSv!

Lurking under the hood is the 6.2L, supercharged V8 known as the "LSA." While that motor is good for 556hp in the CTSv, there seems to be some debate as to whether GM will allow the Camaro to have that much power. Along with a lot more power, an upgraded suspension package along with even better brakes can be expected."

Dude.. that's the antenna for the radio/XM/Onstar..

Honestly I don't think it'd look better anywhere else (see attempted convertible conversions.. then tell me which looks worse ) unless they did a low profile badge antenna like the Challenger; and that's probably design protected to the Challenger/300/Charger family.

But those with access to C5 (y'all know how they loooove me there) should be able to see more and probably post them here. I'll wait for LLN to bust this thing wide open. About in the middle of traffic when I got the email on my phone..

Yes, I know I'm not supposed to do that in traffic, but I was at a long light.

I've argued my POV many times over: they need to do what they do with the Vette -- integrate it into the side mirror.

And it's not for the radio. That antenna is in the glass.

True, but then again replacing a mirror with an integrated antenna for Onstar/XM or whatever the fin does would be a pita for most people after their warranties are up or if it's damaged in any way.

Probably why they went with a fin like all the other cars; cheaper to fix.

But I'm sure SLP or someone will develop something to relocate the assemblies if the demand is there. Hell yell at Scott, John, Sheryl, and co. about it..

We got ABM and IBM on the SS way back when so why not try it here.. I mean even here in this thread we're could be looking at another prayer answered in the form of an LSA powered camarogheddon machine.

Remember, this is also from C5; the mere mention of a 5th gen with a Z/28 badge creates a flood of an unmentionable white sticky substance over there. So maybe that's why BP and co decided to just wet their whistle with 'concrete' evidence.

I posted it here because.. well.. it's a Camo camaro..

Why the hell would GM do that for a fascia swap when production of '11 is only a few months away?

That was my first thought, but then again I thought it would be a little late right now to be testing a new facelift so close to cessation of 2010 production and spooling up 2011 production.

Starting testing now makes sense for a new drivetrain and suspension setup that could be coming 18 months down the pike. Especially if this turns out to be an IVER vehicle.
