If it came factory with the purple, why did they replace it with the gray inserts? And with the money you paid why let them if you did not like it.

I personally think they are the same color just maybe different lot and one looks purple for whatever reason.

* I've had alot of carbon fiber parts and seen this.

wasnt supposed to be purple, only a few escaped with the purple inserts. sadly it came from factory with scratches in the scoops so i asked them to warranty it. i did not know there were 2 colors at that point. after i saw it on the car i told dealer it was different color but they said they were very close that it was trick of the light. when i got home i examined my pictures and saw how different they were. at that point i called the dealer and told them i wanted my purple one back even with the scratches but it had already been shipped back to GM and they said there wasnt anything they could do as they only have 1 part number and all the new ones are grey. my only hope now is to find someone who has another purple one that escaped who would rather have the grey and make the swap myself. im sure on an orange or red car the purple may look hideous so theres gotta be someone out there to trade with.

the purple ones had another something in the mix to harden them faster in cold weather that gives the purple hue

Carbon fiber parts change color over time with heat/sun. No telling what is will look like in 6 months.
