Popping sound from exhaust when slowing down

I posted this here, since I have a 2014 SS/1LE, which has some components from the ZL1.
Is it normal to hear popping sounds from the exhaust when slowing down?
I have heard some cars do this when revving, and my 2013 WRX with the SPT exhaust would do it when slowing down too.
Other drivers that are sports car guys, always give me the thumbs up if they see me slowing down with the popping.
So is this all normal?

Yes, it's normal to have decel pop. It's due to the duration of the exhaust valves.

I love the sound the Shelby makes when I let off the gas! It's so loud that if I'm going down a narrow residential street it will set off the alarms on all the cars parked on the street...lol

I've had 2 camaro 2SSs and they both made that popping sound on deceleration. As Patropia wrote, it is the exhaust valve duration that causes it. Just learn to love it if you haven't already.

Mine does it more now with the Solo Mach-X cat-back exhaust than it did with the stock exhaust. I like it!
