2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary Coupe

[CENTER][CENTER]2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS
35th Anniversary Coupe - Collector Owned "Bubble Car"

2002 was a big year in the history of the Chevrolet Camaro, full of positives and negatives. The big positive being the 35th year of production since Chevrolets F-body was introduced to do battle on the streets and showrooms with the Ford Mustang, very few cars reach such a milestone. This exciting event was unfortunately over shadowed by the news from General Motors that following the 2002 model year, production of the Camaro would cease, with no firm plan in place for its return.

To ensure the Camaro went out on a high note, GM announced the limited production 35th Anniversary Edition Camaro SS and presented here is one of such cars in hard top body style. All anniversary cars were painted red with special silver striping and badging, special two tone leather interior with “35th Anniversary” embroidery and special wheel treatment. Based on the excellent performing “SS” Camaro, this car is powered by GM’s powerful 5.7L LS1 engine rated at 325hp connected to a 6 speed manual transmission with optional Hurst Shifter, and also features a Monsoon audio system with 12-disc CD changer. Collector owned since new, the previous owner of this Anniversary Camaro even went to the extent of storing it in a protective inflatable bubble right up until it was acquired by LMC, still showing but a mere 954 miles since new. Retaining lots of original documentation, photos of it stored in the protective bubble, it is a fantastic low mileage example of an important part of GM performance and Camaro history.

Good luck with the sale. It's a sweet car. If we didn't already have a 5th gen, I'd be on that like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

Problem is, I'm sure the buyer bought it with the sole purpose of unveiling it 10 or more years from now out of its "bubble" to sell it for a king's ransom. GM brought back the Camaro and burst that bubble and now it didn't even sell as high as it did new. It'd be nicer if it were a Berger or GMMG modified car, though.

Just goes to show you that you never know what will happen in the future.

Nice car regardless, and whoever buys it will be happy I'm sure.

2010 2SS/RS Auto, Sunroof, Engine Cover. Transformer Edition package.
2013 ZL1 ragtop #5478. 1 of 54 CRT M6 'verts.
