COmpetition MOde.....broken?

Hey all, not sure where to post this but I will start here.

I went to the track and and didn't do any serious passes, jsut played around at test and tune.

Went into competition mode and it worked like a champ, floored the clutch, floored the gas, engine jump up to 5500 and I dumped and ran flawless......once!

Next pass (had shut off the car) I reset it into competion mode, display indicated that it was in comp mode, line up on the tree, floored the clutch and floored gas and the engine went to the rev limiter hard! Smelled a little clutch as well!!!

I need some advice on this as everything seems to work well, and run fine, my Camaro drives perfect and I am not noticing any obvious problems.

I never did run any time slips cause I was worried I broke my rod with only 866 miles on it, but everything seems fine so far.

Thanks!

PROCEDURE FOR ENGAGING LAUNCH CONTROL FOUND ON MANUAL TRANS 2010 SS CAMARO'S.

1. be at a full dead stop, in neutral. feet off gas and off clutch.
2. press the traction control button twice, it'll switch to competition mode. then the little sign will go away and leave a small icon indicating your in comp mode.
3. gas to the floor. rpm will jump to 4.8k
4. clutch to the floor
5. shift into first
6. drop clutch out and hold on.

This confuses me.

I tried launching the car above 2k twice and all I did was 60 foot burnout. How can a 4.8k launch do any better

Because while in launch control it is supposed to control wheel spin so you DON'T do a 60 foot burnout, while allowing you to keep your foot at WOT.

.... Can you have the trans already in first...ready, or do you have to floor it, clutch it, then shift to first and dump?

thanks.

I have to rouble tap the gass to get the LC to work properly. If I just floor it, the RPM will go to red line. . . Just thought I would pass that info along.

Also, the owners manual doesn't say "dump" the clutch. But realease it steady. People, don't just slide your foot off the clutch and let it slap up. I think this is how people are breaking their rides over on Camaro5.com.
