i've been lurking the other forum, and found vector motorsports is raising their rev limits and shift points up 200 RPM from stock

I've only been behind the wheel of one LS3 but on an stock LS1 with a k&n intake and SLP exhaust it will pull well past the Factory rev limiter... but half the secert to that is lke wtih any other motor is that it has to breath freely to reach its peak HP

358ci SBC 400+hp Double hump Vette heads port and polished, valve job, shaved, weiand stealth intake and 750 edlerbrock carb

From what I have seen in the past I think the stock LS1 was more limited by the valve train capabilities than breathing. If stock springs and pushrods are used I think 6200 rpm is the safe upper limit for a stock LS1. Just a word of caution when raising the rev limiter on a stock LS1.
