2011 BMW M3 vs. 2010 2SS Chevy Camaro

Me and my cousin have been racing our cars our entire lives we bolth live up in MN and while most of this is done on the track (mostly draggin) we have been wonderin who will win with his new purchase of a 2011 M3. He is going to be gettin it this summer and I would love to hear any info on what you guys might predict. As soon as his is broken in we plan on hittin the track, we will vid the race as well. Down the line we hope to race on some other tracks but this thread is more or less based off the quarter mile drag. Bolth the cars are also automatic's which in his case does'nt make a very big difference where as My maro is rockin the L99 and pushin 400hp while he is predicted to have anywhere from 415- or higher, bmw has not really shown much info on the 2011 specs yet.

Kinda hard without knowing the M3 specs. I'm assuming he'll have the weight advantage.

Is the new M3 still a V8 or did they go w/ a TT?

I think since the M3 is SO much more $$$ than your car, you should add some mods to yours to even it out. With just a vararam and a tune, I bet you'll take him.

2010-2SS/RS/LS3/IBM/RP6: ECS-Paxton Supercharger / American Racing Headers & Exhaust / PFADT Suspension / DSS 9" 4.10 Rear / FOR SALE!

I got a feeling I had a chance with the manual but with the auto gonna need some mods to stay competitive.

It has the v-8

I used to win with my WRX vs his 99 dinan stage 5 M3 .... but the times are changing! gonna be sick 2 see 2 white sports cars tearing it up! will post pics as soon as he gets back from school and pics up his new ride. Should be a fun track day no matter what . I am lookin into S/C for some real fun

not necessarily...an auto will shift faster and should be easier to get traction. You just gotta get a good launch. A good tune will help BIGTIME. It should be close, but with some mods you can take him. He's still out a heck of a lot more $$$.

Becareful my last car was an M3 they are full of potential and are Very fast !!!! You should take him off the line however once he hits 3rd watch out thats when I noticed the powerband climb.

1st gear , a god launch and mods will help.
