sub enclosure positioning

I am about to purchase a sub enclosure from subthump...they offer a box that have front firing subs (subs facing the back seat)..any opinions if this is a better option than the rear firing sub box..Thanks,Rich

Front firing is definitely the best. I went with two 10" front firing subs and an amp upgrade and I couldn't be happier. The sound especially the bass and the vibe is amazing!

Bass will travel every direction. Its up to you. Tweeters and midrange are more dependant on direction.

My subs were originally mounted on the sides of the trunk and didn't sound as good to me but I'm no expert.

Right on. Test and do what sounds best. When it comes to subs experiment.

It depends how you intend to use the system. If you can fire the subs forward and seal it off so that the pressure doesnt leak back into the trunk it will sound best. However a rear firing enclosure is the easiest and typically sounds better unless you do what I said above. Remember also if the subs are firing directly into the back seat and are very close the seat will actually muffle the sound too. My vote is rear firing.
