PDIM Update

There has been much debate on the interwebz regarding just what can be done to the earlier cars as far as a PDIM hardware/software update....What can work with the earlier radios etc....

Well, I am here to tell you that a 2010 car (Built 10/5/09) CAN indeed have the newest hardware/software applied to it!!

Just got back from my dealer where they installed a new PDIM module and uploaded the latest (that they show and I have seen anywhere) into the car...

So far it has solved all of the weird behavior I have experienced since I bought the car new... Long indexing times (that it does repeatedly), settings not staying, USB functions non-op while indexing, USB not remembering where it left off at previous shutdown etc etc

If you have been hesitating, go get it done!!

You can check what hardware you have by inserting a USB or AUX device then pressing and holding the menu button for a bit and it will display the info like in my pic....

Unless your hardware is a D version, I would insist it be replaced. If it is a D version (the first D version is DA) they won't replace it. They will just update the software to the newest it will take. The only two D version software updates I have seen are DX (for DA hardware) or DB (for DB hardware)...

I have attached the TSB bulletin so you can take it with you if you want...

Hope that helps....

Ok, so I bought my car used, and not from a Chevy dealer. Can I still take my car into a local Chevy dealer, with this TSB, and they will do it for free?

2010 Stock IBM 2SS/RS

I found $80 in my jeans pocket. The kid in me said "buy nerf guns and candy!" But then the adult in me said "buy vodka, nerf guns and candy!"
