Adding Remote Start on 2013 LS...

picked up my IOM 2LS yesterday...

asked the accessory guy about adding the factory remote start...

he quoted me $340 which included 2 fob's

I've found several articles ... the "kit", which includes the wiring harness extension and module cover is $150...
and each fob is $64
he said 1 hr labor...

does this seem about right...?

sounds within reason to me ... I actually thought the fobs cost more than that

Sounds about right and if you have the dealer install it, it would be under warranty

that is pretty cheap, I think I paid about $250 to have a cheap kit installed on my old car back around 2004. the only reason I got it was because I park outside and like to heat the car up in winter so it's ready to drive when I get in it.

2012 1LS Silver Ice - Mods - SS Strut Brace, RX Catch Can, BBK CAI, TRS Bi-Xenon HID's, Blackout Grill, RX65 Radar Detector, 700watt 4 Channel Amp with Kicker Speakers, 4Pack Gauges Added, 30% tint. Baer Drilled Rotors & pads, 20" American Racing. Awesome car.

My dealer is asking 300.00 for install.. thats triple the cost I can find the part for
He also wants 150.00 for the unit & 76.00 for each fob..(requires two fobs) $602.00
not including sales tax of $60.10... walking away paying 662.10 WTF !!
I can get the unit for $110.00 & two fobs for $55.00 (uncut & w/out pass.. entry) &
do the rest my self, well not cutting the key tho..

I think that is a little high.. Here at my dealer parts and labor installed ready to go is $265.00 plus tax. Dealer installed it will carry the rest of the manufacture 3yr 36,000 mile warranty, or 12month 12,000 miles if it is about to go out of warranty.
