i have the Battery Tender® Plus hooked up to my car. anyone that has this will no what i am talking about. i have had this hooked up to my car for a few days now and i get the solid red and flashing green. it has been cold outside for the last few days now and i could never get the Battery Tender® Plus to work right. so i took a heat gun to the Battery Tender and got it nice and hot and pluged it back in and i now have the soild green light. how could this be have you guys ever heard of this before i would think the Battery Tender® Plus is broke. when i pluged it back in it went to solid green in seconds. it now is flashing green again after it got cold again

According the their website:

Step 3) Absorption Charge: Red Light On, Green Light Flashing: Constant Voltage at Absorption Level. This conditions the battery for optimum performance. Absorption charge ends when the battery charging current drops below the optimum recharge threshold or the absorption timer expires.

-and-

GREEN FLASHING - When the green light is flashing, and the red light is on, the
battery is greater than 80% charged and may be removed from the charger and used if
necessary. Leave the battery on charge until the green light is solid whenever
possible. Once the green light begins to flash, it will remain flashing until either the
battery charger output current drops below 0.1 amp, or until 6 to 8 hours has elapsed.

The unit is temperature compensated and maybe because it is so cold it is just working at a different rate. Call them, they have a contact number on their site. I have spoken directly with the owner when I had ?'s about their stuff working on my LiFePo batteries.... they are nice people!

Worst thing you can do is apply heat to an electronic circuit, IC's and Transistors have a temp range they can work in, and if you exceed that range, you will damage the component.
