New l99 weight reduction results.

Originally....I weighed my car on a certified CAT scale. Nobody in the car, 1/2 tank of gas exactly, as the car comes from the factory. No ground effects, standard 20" wheels, no rs package (not that it matters).

Front axle weight was 2020 lbs
rear axle was 1840 lbs

for the combined weight of 3860 lbs.

Today I weighed it again

Front axle was 1980
Rear axle was 1700

Total weight 3680 with 1/2 of gas again.

I still have the stock front wheels on and expect to lose a little bit more when I get my 18" zo6 wheels on there.

Anyways so far Ive removed an easy 180 lbs. I guess it will be at least a solid 200 lbs when I get the new fronts on.

lol, I posted it but forgot to hit reply before I turned off my laptop. Anyways...

Full list of mods done so far.

Long tube headers to high flow cats to custom x-pipe to replace resonator. Mufflers removed and replaced with straight pipes w/ stock tips.

Replaced Brembos with v6 brakes.
18" knock off z06 wheels out back.
sway bars and springs changed out.
front bumper support removed.
rear bumper support removed.
Yank 3600 converter.
Removed some extra plastic from inside the front fascia by the radiator.
Removed air dam.
Removed tire inflator kit.
Removed spare tire cover and carpet.
Removed top piece of metal that sits over the battery.
Removed floor mats.
Removed center speaker from dash.
Removed both engine covers.
Replaced stock intake for New Era OTR intake.
Removed hood liner.
Make sure washer fluid is empty.

Added Nitrous plate kit from Nitrous Outlet....weight is without bottle or nano bottle.
Added a trans cooler.

I plan to run it with less than 1/4 tank tomorrow. Seriously going for an 11.9 on stock front wheels. I think it would be easy with lighter fronts.

I understand all of your mods except for the V6 brake swap. Why would you want the V6 brakes on an SS?

To run smaller wheels for lighter weight and bigger tires for better traction.

The fronts are the problems. You can "supposedly" fit 17s over the stock rears.
