Changing gear shift handle.

I just purchased a new grip gearshift handle for my 2010 SS/RS with a manual transmission. I have seen other Camaros with this handle and wondered if anyone could tell me how to remove the existing handle correctly so I don't damage something in the process. Any help of pictures would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

The factory knob is just pressed on, all you have to do is wiggle/twist/pull up on the knob and it will come off. It takes a bit of strength to get it moving but it will pop right off. Just be carefull when it does come off....your shift boot is still conected by a zip-tie around the bottom of the shift knob, cut the tie off.

use a trim tool and pop off the trim around the shifter, start from the back and work your way up towards the guage cluster. unscrew the shift boot housing screws and pull off the stock knob. it is on there pretty good so it will take some force

Garage
Don't have your head directly above the knob when it comes off. You've been warned.
