Disappointed -- phone won't work with my Camaro

After getting hooked on the phone book download feature (hands free calling) on my last car, I asked the dealer about that option in my new Camaro. I received the OnStar tutorial and realized I could use that option OR my phone, as the OnStar rep pointed out. After 2 weeks of trying to locate a phone that I can pair with my 12 Camaro so that I can download my phone book and make hands free calls, I find this note on the Chevy Bluetooth page:

The Phone Book feature is currently not supported by your vehicle.

Wow.

Game over. How can a car so technically advanced not support ANY phone???

Not happy ... but I guess I'll get over it ... but it irks me that my 2010 "other model" could do this .....

I use an iPhone and just entered the phone numbers manually and added the voice to each number I entered.
Not sure what it is you can't do? I can either use Bluetooth or hit the onstar call button and it asks me who I'd like to call.

Most phones will pair up don't go by what the chevy page tells you. Use owners manual to pair up its pretty simple time consuming but pretty simple. Just have to TAG the numbers. Hope this helps..

I had a BMW 3 series that wouldn't pair to the phone I had at the time, not every phone will pair with all cars, vise/versa.

My iphone would pair for the phone part with my '11 SS, but I could not get the music connect to pair. I had to do a hard reset on my iphone and then both the phone an music connect paired and was good to go. If you haven't tried it, you may want to do a hard powerdown/reset on your phone.

Can you be more specific on what it is you are trying to do as I have no problems with mine. My only issue is trying to figure out the voice commands if I want to call someone, but mainly use it for incoming calls only.

I just noticed now myself that the bluetooth in the car will not pair with my iPhone for hands free calling. This was after my OnStar subscription cancelled. Does it only work when OnStar is activated?

No. I never renewed OnStar. Mine works still (not an iPhone tho). Just unpair the phone and re-pair it. Should work just fine...

Do a hard reset on your iphone. That usually takes care of iphone issues. Even now occasionally my iphone jams up and Pandora or the ipod won't stream. I power it down and restart and it all starts to work again.
