Most likely have some debris or water in it or bad ground or ??... Never ever heard of a vehicle that you could remotely change the tone of the horn. There are physical screws on most by which you can do it but not via the cars' remote...

You probably have an ear maggot! Just like the lady on AOL today. She went on vacation and a fly landed on her ear and laid some eggs. The eggs hatched and tiny maggots crawled into her ear canal and started eating away. Your horn is probably fine.

Wish I could tell ya.. the GM instructions suck.. It says remove the left or right front fender liner.. Should be able to see horn in front.. remove one bolt, the 2 horns come out at once and disconnect the connector..
