Air Deflector

Last night my wife was driving the Camaro. She ran over a huge pice of a truck tire. The only damage I see is that the Air Deflector that attaches to the front Bumper Cover was completly ripped off.
My questions are:

Should I replace the Air Deflector?
Is it necessary?
What is its function?
What other parts should I inspect for possible damage?

It helps guide air up into the engine bay to keep the engine cool. Definitely worth replacing

yes, replace it. My wife looked like she had ripped off a section of it, but it turned out to be just the connectors had popped out. I had some pushpin plastic connectors left over from another project so I reconnected it. I do need to look at it on a lift to see what else is messed up.
