Dreamworks Builds Custom Camaro ZL1 to Promote Movie

Dreamworks has a new movie coming out in July about a snail who wants to race against cars. In the movie called Turbo, the Ryan Reynolds voiced snail, gets superspeed from a modified Chevrolet Camaro and the studio has just debuted a real-life version based on the movie car.

The Camaro in this film started out as as a reasonably tame automatic V8 car but now has a stonking supercharged engine pouring out over 700 HP. It can be seen through the amazing COPO hood. It breathes out through four exhausts that are each have a 10 inch circumference. Latching down the hood are a set of low-profile pins.

There is an aero body kit with lower rocker panels and wider fender flares to make room for the 24 inch wheels that are 10 inches wide up front and 15 wide in the rear!

Keeping it on the ground is a huge rear wing that works with the front lip splitter. The car should corner pretty flat as it now has front coilovers and a custom rear setup.

Instead of paint, the Camaro is vinyl wrapped in a black chrome that sets off the dark tinted windows and led lights.

So what's the little yellow "cup holder" doing on the front? Won't that be too long a reach even for a Slurppie?

10" circumference is about a 3.18 diameter.

That's a tow hook. Some racing require it, like roll cages, so it has become a styling thing too.
