Livernois Motorsports Project Shelby GT500R

Quite a project they have been working on

This information is taken from Rick's post on www.MotownMuscle.com

=========================================

Most of you probably remember the "GT800R" project. When the car was built, we planned on making 800 crank HP, hence the name. The customer wanted to push the limits and the car made 815 RWHP. We told him that at that level, it wasn't a question of if it would break, rather when it would break. Well, it broke... and it broke good.

The Car.....

The Carnage from the Old Engine.....

The Engine.....

Specs:
  • Livernois Motorsports Built 5.4L Aluminum Longblock
  • GT Supercar Aluminum Block
  • ARP Pro-Series Studs
  • Carrillo H-Beam Rods
  • Custom Diamond Pistons Engineered by Livernois, Manufactured by Diamond
  • Livernois Motorsports CNC 4-Valve GT Supercar Cylinder Heads
  • Ford GT Supercar Camshafts
  • Canton Oil Pan

Maiden Voyage Video - Build, Dyno, Street.... (Stock Engine)

The carnage Video.... KABOOM! (Still the Stock Engine)

Car went boom. I know I want forced induction when I get my Camaro. Might as well think about stronger internals right from the start.

I'm bettin by the way he was taggin the rev limiter in the first drive, that the beginning of the end was in sight for that stock engine. It was hilarious to see that cop car stroll by right after the burnout and heavy accel shot though

I just re-read the post, "he is the 6-speed record holder in his Corvette running 8 seconds"
