may own a 3rd gen bird in a week.

and its not going to cost me a dime. 170k on the chassis. 30k on engine and tranny (305 tbi & 700r4). its an 88, it has a restored salvage title but I don't care. he said it was a ta but $'m 90% sure its a base bird (nose is formula or base only. spoiler is definitely base). and of course formulas had tpi.

Sweet!
You can't beat the price!

I'll give you $10 for it - look an easy way to make 10 bucks!

You're right, that is definitely a base model.
T/A had the different nose & TPI, and Formulas had a unique spoiler.

hmm a little black paint, silver stripes, black rims with a chrome lip, and a good true dual flowmaster exhaust would be a good start

I have no idea what it needs.. I'm just running off by the looks of it..

I'm going to experiment with this car. It'll probably be FrankenBird by the end of it, but I plan on using it to refine my painting skills...oh, and it will almost definately be red.

I'll take the engine and tranny if you're ever looking to get rid of them.

it would actually be a good bit of work to convert it to a proper KITT... being that KITT was an 82 (different tailights, different interior pieces like the console, etc)... you do have the correct hood tho and that's a bonus! the guys on knight registries are ga-ga over "correctness" even down to seasons and episodes. you wouldn't even believe it.

then you have the cost of all the electronics and a good KITT nose. the electronics are very expensive! it's an idea we tried out... but we were unsuccessful and the project went out the window when Scott got pissed over the new Knight Rider mustang. our friend has our old project car now.

i say just drive it and enjoy it as is

What happened to yours? Did you have to sell it to buy a "daily driver?"

As for KITT, while it was my dream car when I was a kid, I don't think it's something I'm interested in building myself.
