I JUST saw this posted over on a 4x4 website.

It is getting around pretty quick!

Did you notice all of the dust coming out of that beautiful car. Tells me it is a unmolested and probably not necessarily in the best shape. Def not restored.

2005 CTSV BLACK LS7 Clutch/Flywheel/Slave, Tick Speed Bleeder, Tilton Clutch MC, RevShift Bushings, Domestic V8 Solutions (shifter, 8.8 Diff conversion, srut tower braces, sub-frame connectors), SLP cats, no cags, xpipe, bullet mufflers, Volante, iPod dock, G-force tune; 379hp 381tq.

Killing 5th gens like it is my job.

This was posted on here earlier(several days ago).
OverAnxious and a couple other members loved it.
And I got belittled for being pissed that they destroyed a classic. :\

It's a classic to you and me, but to testers, it's just a heavy piece of rolling iron. I believe the idea of the test was exactly what was to be inferred, is that the new iron is far and away a safer bet in a collision. I'm guessing it would have less complaints had they used a 59 Ford? Personally, I don't like crunching old cars in decent shape, but for this purpose, if it were a rust bucket, it would have compromised the test results.

Besides, who's to really know they didn't buy this car somewhere? If they did buy it, then it's like anything else- if they want to crash it, it's their choice.

interesting!

Aside from the fact that it's a classic, you would think that the classic would have tore through the newer model, we're always hearing how the classics are tanks. It just goes to show you that the safety standards have come a long way. The classics maybe more desirable but the superiority of safety goes to modern technology! For crying out loud just look at the size of the cars by comparison, that's amazing!

Well, different kind of tanks.
Those old 50's cars probably weren't as robust as, say, one of these:

Actually if they would have chosen a head on crash it would have been different. Those cars have an X frame so the weak spot for crashing would be exactly what they chose for a test to show that the 59 wasn't safe. F-em for killing a classic like that.
