Good Dog Names (Attn. Red Sox Fans!)

OK everyone,

So as we all know the Christmas season is upon us and for the longest time I have be telling my parents that I really want a dog (esp. a black lab). I mean I'm only 18 so there's plenty of time down the road but hey. Anyways I hope this doesn't jinx anything but I noticed a business card from a local animal shelter sitting on my kitchen counter and I hope that's a prequel to something good. So hypothetically speaking, if I do end up getting a dog I've always wanted to name it after something Red Sox related since I'm a huge fan. I've been stuck on Yaz for (Carl Yastrzemski) for a long time, but I'm not sure seeing as almost every person (esp. girls) I talk to about it first thinks of the birth control pill of the same name So what does the MC population think? Sox fans, any other ideas?

Im from NY so I wont say what I was thinking in reference to the red sox thing. But, I have 2 labs myself and I love them to death. There great dogs.. I like unique names myself and named my black female Porscha.. ( not the car ). And I also, have a yellow female and her name is Layla.. ( not the song ) The best way I have noticed is just if you get a dog just look at the dog and the first name that pops into ur head is usually the best.. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

sorry, had to.

Seriously...how about Carlton, Boggs or Fenway? Even Nomar would make a great name...you might not like him, but as soon as they traded him, the sox won.

Labs are GREAT dogs...good luck.

My black lab is named Josie. I like Lyla to. You could call it Red or Ox.

I have a black lab/bloodhound puppy, named her Curie (I'm a nuclear engineer, this may help some understand the name).

I'm not a sox fan, but I will offer some advice:
1. Think of how often you will have to explain the name, especially the more unique it gets,
2. Remember you want something that's easy to call and not easily mixed up with other words, so your pup doesn't come running every time you have a normal conversation.

Hope you get the dog though, they are a ton of work, but very worth it.

2011 Synergy Green Metallic 1SS Camaro:
RS Package, White Ralley Stripes, Premium Sound.
Mods; Flowmaster Exhaust, Vararam CAI, Pfadt Sport Suspension, Budnik "Ice" Wheels, Nitto Invo tires
Upcoming Mods; Custom grill and badging.

Curie sure sounds nice, but quark or neutrino would have been funnier. I wouldn't call the explanation normal conversation though. Labs are great dogs, usually have wonderful tempermants, good with kids and other dogs if you put time into them.
