You have got to be kidding!

OK, tire issue resolved, now DMV! I come home to find a notice from the state that they show I do not have insurance on my car! What the hell?!! I have an insurance card from Progressive, paid in full for 6 months. So I called Progressive, so here is what happened, you'll love this!

When I got the car, Progressive said the vin #'s were still being set up in their system since the car was a new production (don't laugh, really?). So, a few months after I got the car, I renewed with a new policy which was cheaper. I said (see, I knew better, but they did not listen to me ) shouldn't we cancel the old policy and they said no, just let it lapse. Well guess what, on the new policy they sold me, they changed the vin #!!! Yes, months after purchasing the car, they decided I needed a new one! So, let's just say Progressive has been enlightened, and they understand I am not pleased with the aggravation. They are trying to find out why it changed (could be the idiot submitting the new policy? .) Oh, but wait, it gets better. I just reviewed my car registration and the license plate number is incorrect! Those little fingers entering the plate number just ran amuk, so guess who gets to go back to the DMV! Ding, ding, ding, you win!

So, the moral of this rant is, double check your renewal insurance car and your registration for car, and oh hell, your marriage license, you may get lucky there!

I had the opposite happen; I got cards in the mail for a 2SS I didn't even own when I just asked for a quote. Those same fingers ended up opening a policy for the car to the tune of a $600 bill.

**** near threw up my innards on the coffee table when I saw that.

Support MC.com peoples.. $9 bucks. Timmy needs to get that wheelchair into the 10s!

A while back I checked a gmail account I never use..to find that Geico sent me e-mails about my premium not being paid and that eventually the plan was canceled.
Funny thing? I don't have Geico.
After e-mailing them back wondering WTF was going on..eventually they told me that they put in the wrong e-mail address.
I was freaking out because this was during the time period someone stole my CC #...so I was wondering if someone opened up a false insurance plan in my name to ruin my credit.

That $600 was 6 months. Under my father's policy (I'm designated under his, and don't have my own policy).

Had I gone alone on that one; $564.. per MONTH. o_o

Pff, that's cheap. My insurance is like $800-900 (I forgot the exact number) per 6 months for my car..which is a 09 G5..about half the price of a SS, lol.

I wouldn't worry, it's the insurer's responsibility to report to the DMV, they should have no problem making it right. They probably wouldn't waste any time reporting to the DMV if you didn't renew

Still legal in 16 states. It's happy. It's fun. It's Happy Fun Car.

Yes, I just have to make sure the DMV corrects the license plate number they typed in wrong. It just drives me nuts when simple things go wrong.

Oh, ya just gotta love people entering things wrong in the system.

Illinois DMV screwed up my name on the plate registration for my Grand Prix... which was then transferred to my Malibu.
Well, the (correct) name on the Malibu sales receipt doesn't match their records, so they won't issue a registration or a title.

So now I had to send them a signed affidavit stating that incorrectly spelled me and correctly spelled me are the same person. Ugh.
