ArtWork - Another Day With Zaino

So, a buddy (Art) has a nice black Z06 that recently underwent a pretty hefty rebuild. It looks good as new, well, almost. He pulls up into the weekly car show last Friday night and received a few shots about how dirty it was. That soon turned into a fairly short discussion about meeting up at CF member PeterPans house the next morning for a nice work over for the finish. So he pulls up to the garage at 10am, hauls out a big fan, and a gym bag full of Zaino products he had purchased a while ago, but hadn't used yet. So, Instead of Menzerna Moment II, I present Another Day With Zaino. We put Art to work along with me, Stormcrowe, and PeterPan and busted out the dawn, claybar, 2 Porter Cables, and every Zaino product known to man-kind.

These are the before shots, I wasn't sure we'd be able to save that rear deck, and the whole surface felt like sandpaper.......

So, we had our work cut out for us....The wash, 2 claybars, wash and dry were the easy part...

After drying, we fired up the two Porter Cables and went to town with the Zaino PC to knock out the swirls and diminish the scratches... PeterPan was into it when it came time to remove the ZPC..

Almost all the swirls disappeared and the surface is ready for swirl remover to take care of the remaining swirls and reduce the scratches even more..

StormCrowe went after the Black Chrome wheels and the exhaust tips while the rest of us took the Z5 off..

With that done, we set in with the final polish and the window cleaner..

After we put the Zaino Clear Seal on, we barbecued fillet mignon and sausage, added in some creamy potato salad, chips, salsa and a few beers. It's hard work, but the end results are always worth the effort.

Started at 10am, finished at 4pm, so 6 hours. Most of the time we had two people on the car switching out with the other two when we needed breaks. We took our time because we take pride in doing a good job and we knew this one was no longer a daily driver and the final result would be the way it looks for a long time. We did one round of ZPC, Z5, Z2, window cleaner and ZCS. The owner did Z8 this morning and he'll be doing Wolfgang Fuzion Wax along with Z9/10 Leather cleaner/conditioner probably next weekend.

Not sure I'd want to do that, but after doing a bunch of cars for our local crew, I fully understand why detail shops charge the $ that they charge. Ours have all been friends and we've been charging beer and lunch for the work.

If I ever loose my job, or when I retire, I could see doing this for a living. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it, and it certainly would keep me in shape
