i am SO SICK...

sorry. i just have to rant. i am so sick and tired of this Katrina 5 year anniversary coverage on every dang news channel. it's all over the national and local news media.

it makes me feel like New Orleans is a freaking circus side show. "awww, look at the poor people. look at the awful things that happened." we KNOW. we LIVED through it. and we would like to NOT be reminded of it every freaking year. it was HORRIBLE enough the first friggin' time. so much doom and gloom. and i doubt showing it all over the news makes anyone feel any different than they did before. ugh! sorry, y'all. this is just getting very old for me after having to relive the nightmare all freakin' week.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday Selena, the only part I thought was news worthy were the parts about improving the dams/leveys. Everything else was just re-hashed and "do you remember?" rewinds. Not trying to belittle anyone's experience there, everyone knows, it was a disaster.

yeah, see i know most people don't wanna say anything that aren't from here... like somebody badmouthing your sister. you can do it, but no one else better do it. but believe me, i think everyone in this town is wishing we could just get on with our lives and not have to rehash this crap every **** year.

it would be different if the media was doing it for a greater good or something. but we all know they aren't. that's the thing that really bothers me. it just feels like we are freaks that everyone else can look and point and say "i'm glad that's not me" or my personal fave "those people are so stupid for living there"

The only thing I don't like about the Colbert Report is that I watch the Daily Show before it, and it feels like a rerun to watch the Colbert Report right afterward.

What I'm getting from this is we shouldn't remember 9/11 either?

I'm not here to argue but I think it's important to remember stuff like this.
