Labor Day 2010: Why USA-Made is Important to Adam's

got this from the Adam's Polishes forum. thought it was appropriate to share!

For a lot of people its just a day off of work and an excuse to have a back yard bar-b-q, but actually the holiday originated On September 5, 1882 when the first Labor Day parade was held in New York City. Twenty thousand workers marched in a parade up Broadway. They carried banners that read "EIGHT HOURS FOR WORK, EIGHT HOURS FOR REST, EIGHT HOURS FOR RECREATION!" After the parade there were picnics all around the city.

Within the next few years, the idea spread across the US, and all states celebrated Labor Day. In 1894, Congress voted it a federal holiday.

To continue to honor that tradition Adam's is happy to introduce our foam gun, which unlike cheaper alternatives sold by our competitors, is made right here in the good old USA!! Our die hard commitment to the idea that we should always choose domestically made goods is more than a marketing gimmic, at Adam's Polishes its a company wide moral stand to support the American worker and American businesses. By choosing products Made in the USA we help our friends, families, and communities, ensuring that this great country of ours continues to thrive.

Whatever your plans are this holiday weekend we hope you include a little bit of time to appreciate the hard work and craftsman ship your fellow countrymen. If you're out shopping, try to seek out that MADE IN THE USA tag, take a moment to realize that somewhere an honest, hard working, US citizen's job depends on everyones continued commitment to shop and buy domestically made products.

We sincerely thank you for your support and business, from our team to you and your family - Have a happy, safe, and relaxing Labor Day!!

What are your plans this weekend?

i'm driving to houston today to visit with friends and family.

my buddy is putting a spray in bed liner in my new truck for only $200 on saturday morning. after that i'm going to give the truck a good hand wash at my parents house with my Adam's products. i have to use the self wash station here in Midland cuz i live in an apt.

sunday we will be going to the lake with my dad's boat and my barely used jet ski (i don't ride it enough, 3 or 4 times a year) then burgers at night.

monday will be spent driving back to good ol' west texas!

what are your plans?

I might try to make it back down to the Patton Museum again this weekend before it shuts down. I need to get some pictures of what's left.

Penn State vs. YSU tomorrow in Happy Valley, Canfield Fair & coworkers' son 1st birthday party on Sunday, then housework and relaxation on Monday. My weekend is jammed packed

Would I open a can of worms if I said: It would be nice if American autoworkers were able to celebrate production of the Camaro in the USA. Not discrediting anything you Canadians have done since 1993, but...
