need your opinion guys!

I'm getting a brand new Malibu LT very soon. I just want to know if there is any Malibu owners around here (I'm pretty sure there has to be some) and their opinion on the car. I test drove it today and i liked it. I would also like to know any recommendation in color because I really have no idea which color to choose

PS: I also test drove the Chevy Cruze and its not bad at all. It felt really good while driving it and the cabin its quite spacious. The interior is also very nice. It may not be the fastest compact car there is but it does not feel that slow. I drove the 1.4l turbo not the 1.8l. Definitely worth looking at.

You can ask Tim (OctaneZ28) - his Mrs drives one.

Yep, we have a 2010 Malibu LS.
Base model. Only options are body-side moldings and spare tire.
Mocha Steel Metallic with the Cocoa/Cashmere interior.

I'm very surprised at how much I like this car!
It's quiet, rides smooth, handles good and gets amazing gas mileage.

If you want a little extra power, get the V6.
I've heard that the V6 still gets over 30MPG on the highway, but city MPG is in the high-teens.

Ours is a 4-cylinder with the 4-speed auto.
EPA rating 22MPG city / 30MPG highway.
Real results: 21MPG city / 34MPG highway.
(Our city driving is low-speed 1 mile trips, so our MPG suffers from that)

The 6-speed auto (standard on LT/LTZ) gets a 23MPG city / 33MPG highway rating, so I'd imagine it would be even better than the great mileage we get with ours.

It's a well-built solid car, and we really love it.
You can't go wrong! Highly recommended!

I think my favorite color combo on the Malibu is Taupe Gray Metallic with the Titanium interior.

i like the cars. my buddy had one as a rental in florida and it drove great. i do know that its a PITA to change the headlights. you have to take the front bumper off. we tried to put HID lights in a buddies car and we couldnt figure out how the hell to get the lights out or how to get the **** bumper off. i love the 2 tone interior though.

My wife has the 2010 LTZ in IBM with the cocoa/cashmere interior. It's the 2.2 ecotech, with the 6sp auto. I love the car! We took it to Florida, through Alabama, and didn't have an uncomfortable moment! I'm 6'2" and 230pds, and we took two teenagers with us.

My wife averages just over 27mpg combined, with a 70/30 highway/city mix. Not bad considering how heavy her foot is, lol.

In short, IMHO, Chevy got the Malibu right!

I think all the 2011 models now have a 6 speed automatic. I test drove a LT today again and I really liked it.

I think the standard halogen headlights looks pretty good. No need for HIDS IMO.. but thanks for the info, it sure will be useful
