Another Photo for You to Critique

This is a sword I have hanging on the wall in my living room. It is from the Kit Rae Fantasy Weapons line. The shot itself was a bit of an evolutionary exercise, I knew there was a cool shot to be had of the sword and I kept experimenting, building one shot on the previous until I got this.

With the exception of the slight fade at the bottom edge of the shot and some slight tweaking of the of the LAB curves, this was all achieved with camera angle and lighting.

From my "Still Life" Gallery. (to fully appreciate the detail in this shot it is best viewed at 3X Large in the Still Life gallery)

"Molotoch"

Thanks for looking

Very nice still

The handle appears to be black leather and is hard to light without altering the rest of the shot, but it is a bit too dark from the hilt up to the bottom of the handle in this shot. Just my opinion, I do love your work.

Nice, but to dark, it almost drowns out the sword/too deep., a slight more back grown or less black it would be great !

I think that the deep, dark look is exactly what you need. More lighting and the you would be drawn more to the blade rather than the ornate flourishes of the handle.

Thanks for sharing!

I really like it. But I would definitely try a series with slight lighting adjustments just to see how it affects where the eye is drawn. Nice work!
