Geekbench is kind of like a "dyno" test for Macs. It gives you around the estimate of the capability of the computer you have.

2010 MacBook Pros - high end models - averaged 5k. The new models have an astounding average 10K for the high end models. Somehow mine was able to achieve 11K - without 8gig ram upgrade or faster HDD/SSD.

These scores are in the ballpark of the expensive Mac Pro desktops which never happened before. Also, the GPU included is actually a middle to high end GPU (even besting the GPU in the ASUS gaming laptop carried at our Best Buy store) - which again never happens with an Apple product.

In a nutshell what does this mean? The "Pro" moniker finally deserves to be on these MacBook Pros... these laptops mean business.

It's a benchmark, for Macs, so other people with Macs can geek out about how much processing power they have. It's a way to compare sizes, so to speak.

Still legal in 16 states. It's happy. It's fun. It's Happy Fun Car.

But in the end...it's still just a Mac.

A Mac that is a powerhouse and through years of testing from multiple and credible sites show that Windows runs better on a Mac than on a PC laptop.

Also, how is this anything negative vs a person showing off their dyno results?

The power in these Macs matter when you use it for high end programs and for work.

Also, how many can say after year of ownership of a laptop can get 1,700 - 2 grand on the original price of their laptop. Not a HP, Sony or Dell... and etc.

...oh yea that's right - it's a Mac.

Again, no difference than those "geeking out" from their dyno results.
