Is this Chevy sign worth anything?

OK, you American Picker dudes, I have a chance to purchase this vintage Chevrolet sign, but I cannot find another like it to get an idea on price to pay for it. It appears to be a pole barn sign, and has a stamp, serial number and company name. It still has its reflectiveness.

Looking for some input. Thanks!

It appears to have been a highway sign, it is in pretty bad condition. It will not have much value to it

The seller is asking $350 for it. It is quite large - 6' wide. I'd hate to not buy it...there's a Chevy dealership near me willing to pay $1000 for it...

I've been told not to clean it if I do buy it, as it would lose its "vintage" value.

Yes, do not clean it. As with any metal antique.
Tons of people had their antique knives become totally worthless when they attacked it with a brillo pad, for example.
