The titanic hit an iceberg at 11:44 pm April 14 1912. It didn't completely sink until the early hours of April 15 1912. Such a horrible tragedy...

The Titanic is yet another example of Mankind's arrogance over nature. As long as Mankind is of the belief that it has dominion over nature there will always be the potential for these type of disasters.

wow i can't believe it's been that song since that tragedy

there are some freaking huge cruise ships out there this day and age, be interesting to see how they compare in size to the titanic

i haven't seen the movie in a long time, but it's still one of my favs

I believe it could. Few of the larger oceanic vessels have double hulls and they are usually tankers not pleasure ships.

In light of the tragedy of the Titanic, there was an "Iceberg Alley" patrol developed and has monitored the huge area for such rogue iceberg behemoths since shortly after that tragedy. Nowadays it is done primarily for the deep sea oil rigs but vessels would benefit too.

But, sh1t still happens...

How so? Its not like the crew saw icebergs and plowed through them intentionally.
