F.M.L.(F*** My Life)

well everyone as hard as basic training and ait was for me it was mainly due to me tearing my right acl.As a result of that it took me 14 MONTHS to complete basic and ait at Fort Knox,KY.I had surgery and went through 7 months of rehabilitation. For anyone who's had an injury like that will attest that it's not fun.well this past week I WAS suppost to be out in the feild training.I was in the motorpool and me and my gunner was on the back of a hum-v(it was a slantback) i had lost my balance and footing and we both had all of our gear on minus our rucks and weapons.well instead of falling on my shoulder or head i jumped.and when i jumped i landed on both feet and when i did i felt something in my right leg either pop, break or snap.I tried standing up but couldn't.I thought i broke a bone or fractured my leg or something.I was sent to the hospital and they did x-rays(on monday june 6th) and the following day i had an mri.i was told this past wendsday that I retore the acl repair from fort knox which was a little over a year ago.I have no idea if the army will keep me,discharge me after i get surgery again and give me disability.I WANT to stay.I was improving on pt tests,i was getting faster little by little and now i'm startin back to square f'n one again.

I'm frustrated like hell right now.I'd like to thank everyone here who has supported me,I really do appreciate it

That's bad news, but as others have said here, keep your chin up, head down, and press on. It may not be your choice in the end whether you stay in service or not, but your attitude involved with staying in active service will have a ton to do with whether you stay in or not. Be positive, and do what you can to the best of your ability in your pursuit in service if that's what you really want to do. Coach V said it best "Don't give up.... Don't EVER give up..".

My best to ya, be safe, and get healthy

Thanks for ya support i know i haven't been on in a while.doin what i can for the company while they were at gunnery.they're almost done.they're doin tables 10,11,12 and that should be it but who knows.anyway i was told by the docs to go to physical therapy for another 6 weeks before i get surgery.she may have to do some bone work (something to do with the past surgery i had i guess with the strength of my leg i guess) but there is a possiblity of me having to go through a 2 stage surgery.
