Opinions on an 87 Grand National

Ive always loved these cars. I'm thinking about buying one I'd like to have a little project to work on. I've found one that's in real nice condition and he's asking 10k for it. Straight body, no rust clean interior and has 96k on the clock.

What do I need to look out for on these cars? Do you think the value will go up or start to decline? Any info would be great. Thanks.

Love those cars. I would think their value would only go up at this point. Not sure if that's a good price for one with that many miles...look on ebay and craigslist to get a sense of what they are going for. Good luck.

Awesome cars. Second favorite specialty GM product after the Syclone. $10K is a good deal for one in good shape. Make sure it's not a converted T-Type. The T-Types are worth considerably less (though will probably be collectible eventually).

I'm a bit confused with the RPO codes. It showed t-type package should it also say Grand National somewhere on the sticker.

Great cars! Be sure to get a 1987, not a 1986

The only Regal T-Types you'll see labeled as a Grand National (sticker) are the cars they made to end the model year in '87. This was done for maybe 3 months (late September -early December).

Check the VIN number/tags/codes, should give you everything you need.

These cars were AWESOME straight line 1/4 mile performers back in the day, but thats it. Cornering stunk, handling stunk & top end stunk (125mph, electronically limited), but they have a huge cult following.
