Thumbs up Wager

Ok so I saw a friend today, and he has an 2004/05 Honda VTX 1300 w/12000 miles. I have known him for a while and he takes care of his stuff. He told me he would sell it to me for $3000.00. I have a jug of coins that weights 84.4 lbs. I have included picture of my son that is 11 with his weight and the jug with coins. some are wrapped and some are not. it has nickles, pennies dimes, quarters.

My wife knows nothing about this yet except for the fact that we disagree about how much the coins are worth. I say about 2000.00 and she sayes $800.00. I beleive that there a a lot more do not really know.

The wager would be: We weigh the coins at a bank at the same time to see the amount. He would have to accept the amount in the jug and I would get the bike.

My question is should I pose the wager to him. He likes to gamble and likes the thrill of the chase.

I value all of your opions, Should I let my wife in on the wager, she is totally against me getting a bike, I will not trouble you with the details.
This is the Camaro Mod fund and if I get the bike I will have to wait until I save funds to get my exhaus. BTW my MC insurance would only be 7.00 per month.. I have not asked my buddy if he would do this.
let me know.

My wife said you have $1,123.48 in that jug. So now you can take that to the bank.

This should be a contest to see who can guess the closest

I'm a bike guy at heart. I have 2, a Ducati Monster S4RS and a Triumph Thruxton. But in this case with that bike at that price, I say go for the car mods.

I'm guessin' that if he wants $3000...he won't settle for an unknown amount of coins...but who knows. And personally...I would want a much nicer bike if I was going to take all the flack you are for the unapproved purchase.

EDITED because I should keep my big mouth shut...sorry!

And forgive me for going just a little farther...but IMO you should wait to get a bike when your son is a little older and doesn't need his Dad as much as he does at his current age because he's not ready to be the man of the house yet.
oh come on..... your writing this guy off already? who said the bike was a POS? and what if its the bike hes been wanting? just because its not what you would want, doesnt mean its not a bike he loves. and shame on you for writing him off as a dead man.....

guapo post some pics of the bike.
