Possible REBIRTH of Barracuda

Hello. I am LOVING all the new previous Muscle cars being reborn. I want all of them. I ultimately would love to get a 70 Hemi Cuda but I know it is way out of my price range. Maybe this NEW Barracuda would be a bit more affordable. I found these concepts on a few different pages. I also found this out:
How about a 2009 Chrysler 'Cuda? The possiblity of driving a brand new Cuda! Well the rumors are flying about a possible Chrysler Cuda concept that could see its debut at the 2007 SEMA show. When someone had inquired about the 'Cuda concept and the response that they got from Chrysler was:

We are pleased to read of your interest in the Chrysler Cuda concept vehicle. At this time,DaimlerChrysler has not released any plans that indicate the future production of the Chrysler Cuda. If built, The Chrysler Cuda concept vehicle would be built on the same platform as the upcoming 2008 Dodge Challenger, and would be production ready around the same time. We encourage you to stay in touch with the Chrysler.com website as well as your local Chrysler dealerships for future product updates.

So if this response is correct it appears that they are planning at least a Cuda Concept Car. Also that it would be ready about the same time as 2008 Dodge Challenger!

If they do produce the Chrysler Cuda it would probably have a similar range of engines to that of the 2008 Dodge Challenger. Which will probably include the 6.1L Hemi, or even the new 392 Hemi engines!

Do you think it would be right for Chrysler to produce the Cuda under the Chrysler name because the Plymouth company was dissolved a few years back.

Stay tuned as more developments come about the possible upcomming Chrysler CUDA

Maybe it is a reality. Here are some concept I found. What you think? Keep it in the past or support it? I am SUPPORTING it 100%, just like the T/A

- I know its not a Barracuda but it is HOT

When your quoting someone else it makes it easier to read if you put quotations around it or use italics for the quoted text

Here is the concept at the SEMA show from 2007:

Unless you've got an uncle on the verge of buying the farm or Grand Canyon deep pockets, you won't be able to pick up an actual 'Cuda anytime soon. According to a Chrysler exec on hand at SEMA, the Barracuda concept is a one-off production car built for one of those overtly wealthy gearhead. We don't have any details on who this mystery magnate is, but with a 6.1-liter HEMI, a body entirely molded in carbon fiber, six piston Brembo brakes and a set of 22-inch Zenetti five-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZeros, it's guaranteed that he (or she) will be enjoying laying rubber around his private estate.

While the full carbon fiber body is trick and the Lambo orange paint makes the 'Cuda "pop," we're baffled that the interior is pulled straight from the Charger SRT8 parts bin. Figure this car is worth more than its weight in unobtanium and you'd think that a few extra bucks for some Alcantara and Recaros wouldn't do much damage to the bottom line.

Here is another report, but before SEMA:

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsAr...ncepts/228906/

A 21st century ‘Cuda’?

Pictures of this unknown muscle coupe surfaced late yesterday on various US-based internet forums. As you can see in our gallery, they show a hitherto unseen two-door muscle car coupe with a carbon fibre-style bonnet.

The car bears more than a passing resemblance to the Dodge Challenger concept shown at the 2006 Detroit show, but it has its own bonnet, bumper, grille and tail styling, all of which is reminiscent of the original ’64 Barracuda.

You’ll also notice that the car is missing any distinguishing badges. Some US industry commentators have speculated that it is the first sign that Chrysler’s new owners plan to produce a Chrysler-badged version of the Dodge Challenger, which itself enters production next year; others have suggested that it's simply a one-off special built to order for a particular customer.

If it's real, the new Barracuda could use the same 425bhp 6.1-litre Hemi V8 as the Challenger, an engine which is also found in the Chrysler 300C SRT-8. Expect more pictures of the car, and further information on its origin, later this week.

The "Cuda" car at Sema was built by a private owner, Chrysler didn't have anything to do with it.

Barracuda with no Plymouth around is kinda silly IMO.

Saw the Cuda at SEMA. It was pretty cool, should be interesting to see what it'll bring at Barrett and if the car has any influence with Dodge/ Chrysler.
