Dealing with Insurance companies..

I'm now convinced that "pain and suffering" settlements after auto accidents have little to do with your actual injuries and are more related to the pain and suffering you have to go through in dealing with them.
I was hit on my way home from work last week and it has been a nightmare ever since. The accident was a week ago today and I still haven't received a damage estimate.

Did you have to goto the hospital? The "pain and suffering" is often 3X your medical bills + missed income from my experiences.

I often had to go get my own estimates just to keep the insurance adjuster "honest." You should get a couple estimates at least, just to be sure that when the adjuster comes it will be accurate and reasonable.

They had the car towed to the shop out of which the adjuster works. I don't have the money to have it towed to a bunch of different places.
Didn't go to the hoapital, but saw a doctor on Friday. Neck is sore and tight. But the X-rays turned out okay..

Any body shop adjuster/insurance company worth a crap will go to where the car is.... No need to tow it anywhere.

If you are saying you are with them and they won't go to where the car is to do an estimate for you, then I think you know what it says....

I'm not with Geico. The person who hit my car in an SUV while I was at a dead stop at a traffic light are insured by Geico.

OK. the comments made were for you getting "other" estimates done on the car and not being able to take it anywhere. Call some body shops that you would want to work on your car and ask them if they would go and do an estimate. Any of them worth their salt will do so.... problem solved and you have other estimates to compare to the one you get from the other party...
