This is my Camaro. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My Camaro is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My Camaro, without me, is useless. Without my Camaro, I am useless. I must drive my Camaro true. I must drive straighter than my enemy who is trying to outrun me. I must show him my tail lights before he passes me.
My Camaro and I know that what counts in this life is not the miles we drive, the noise of our exhaust, or the smoke we make. We know that it is the journey that counts.
My Camaro is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its sounds. I will keep my Camaro clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other.
Before God, I swear this creed. My Camaro and I are the remaining symbols of the Freedom of the Open Road. We are the masters of our journey. We are the saviors of our way of life.
So be it, until my life is over and I slide, worn out and battered, but happy I was worthy to own.... a Camaro!
...thanks to the USMC for the Rifleman's Creed, which inspired this little note.
